My friends, my friends!

It sure has been awhile since I’ve been consistently active here. Wanted to dump some of the great things from the last week after turning 38 and surviving the plague 😂 (even the dog was taking his temperature at one point lol lol.

I’ve had the opportunity to educate in two different settings this week! I am so grateful and excited to share my knowledge with other stylists and make a change in someone else’s career! I can’t wait to see where this takes me. New faces, new connections, new ways to grow the salon industry for the better!

I booked tickets to a HUGE hair show in Florida! I also snagged an amazing opportunity to go to a cutting class in September and keep up with the fun coming out while creating it myself!

20 years in this career and I’ve loved every single day of it. Well, maybe like kids I forget about some of the bad lol. 😂. But as I reflect, I’m so LUCKY to truly love the gift I was given and the world it pulled me into.

I’ve been loving the new addition to my service menu! I don’t know if you guys remember (I’ve lived many lives 😂) I started with Aveda way back 20 years ago. They were big on rituals. Of healing the mind, body and spirit from my POV. It makes sense that later I would be brought to reiki, yoga, and somatics. They all fall into it like little puzzle pieces 🧩.

This is just my first step in dipping my toes in with combining my love for hair and love for helping people relax.

When you come in, I want to give that little nervous system a hug 🤗.

Alright, I’ve heard for awhile now my booking page has been a little… chaotic😜.

When you go to schedule, it will look a little different! The biggest thing is you’ll manually add your haircut now under add ons to your color appointment, but it also knocks out 10 services or so. Things are much more streamlined ☺️

Formula in prior reel!

The hair and the song just did it for me.

You guys, I don’t know what’s happened but I’m super excited to play and be creative! Maybe it’s the new space giving a new spark.

Bring on all the new colors! It’s been awhile!

Colored with wella Blondor around hairline.
Used joico lumishine 7nb and 7nwb for a lowlight. Some I took all the way down. Some I made more like a balayage. Toned everything with 9nb and 9nwb. Trionics developer for everything!

Prepped with unite 7 second blowout crème, styled after with unite texture spray. I used a 1 1/4” barrel.

Before and After. It’s been about a month and I just about know where everything is at. Still need a frame for my license. Maybe I’ll add that to the to do list.

So you want a blowout but don’t have the time? Me either. So I’ll show you in a quickie.

I did let my hair air dry some.

Then applied @unite_hair boosta volumizing spray (about 4 sprays at the crown) and 7 second blowout cream (about the size of a nickel). I get no kick backs. I’m just trying the products and seeing what I think! 🤔)

Anyhoo, blowdry it in real quick with a brush and get the hair about 90% dry.

Then, go in with a round brush blow dryer (BUT ONLY if you’ve followed all the other steps I’ve given you prior.) -90% dry first and be sure to use heat protection! This is to finish not do the dirty work!

I have the @amikapro dryer currently.

Taking appx 3 sections work your way up spending the most time on the top layer and least time on the bottom layer. (No one can see it down under!)

Shake it all up and toss it around! Tada!

I’d say overall I was happy with how the products worked and felt! I could maybe go for a little more moisture for this thirsty hair, but I’m learning! Oh and I’m not normally one to use volumizing spray. So thinking out loud, the blowout cream is probably great alone. The volumizing made me feel like it needed more. (Great reminder if you’re not seeing results you want, maybe user error hahaha) 😂

Hope this helps! Oh and man do I have a very serious parting and blow drying face. Yikes. 😬

Toning it down for what feels like fall.

We went in and added some dimension, depth and shine! Using joico lumishine we did a base to mimic her natural but warm it up. Then alternated between that and a lighter golden blonde. This was the perfect way to freshen up her look without worrying about having to come back in to maintain!

Maybe I am kinda excited for fall and hair colors?!

Golden hour, but make it hair 💇🏼‍♀️

She always lets me play. Last time we tried some strawberry blonde in her hair that didn’t hold too well. This time I asked “do you want the strawberry more as all over, or dimension?” She decided on dimension. (Great call btw).

So I came up with a happy fun new foil pattern and went in with blondor 10vol for the highs , joico lumishine for the lows. I used 8ng for one of the “low lights” and used 8nc with 7nc equal parts for the other. Concentrated the blonde mainly around the face and took thin weaves to match her density.

I love this for keeping it blonde but adding dimension into the hair and giving some warmth!! It looks so good!

Took off a little length to bring back a style that’s easy to maintain!

i’m giving a brief play-by-play on how I achieve this style.

I used a 1 and 1/4 inch long barrel curling iron and I curled away from my face. Once I got behind the ear, I alternated directions. Don’t put too much thought into it. The main goal is to create texture and movement not perfect curls. After you get all of the curls in and I do mean after!!! you can move everything around and then re-curl any pieces that you don’t like. Grab some texture spray and shake it up. Tada!

This summer looks a lot more better 🤣. But seriously, I’ve really taken some time away from social media and I’ve enjoyed my days. Some filled with puppy teeth, some with amusement parks and memories that’ll last a lifetime with my kid. Oh and a shameless selfie of my fresh back to work haircut.

I’ve officially made the move into my new location and it feels right. I didn’t question or second guess myself on if I was doing the right thing. I knew it would give me back time that I didn’t even know I was missing. Gave me back some peace.

This summer has taught me a lot about finding balance and going with the flow. The more we can ease into things without expectations, the better it’ll be.

It’s been awhile since I’ve had a detailed blonde in my chair since everyone is on the natural train. A ton of cute foils later we got out a lot of warm banding and created a softer grow out. Loving how this turned out 💕. Low maintenance but still bright blonde! (No toner)

I think RAW LIFT blonde is finally getting the shoutout it deserves!

I started doing hair almost 20 years ago. Like 19 and a half years ago close lol. 😂

Anyhoo, IMO you can’t beat the lift that your hair naturally achieves! I am happy to tone if that’s your thing. I won’t judge you. But I’m always rooting for your natural lift! I find it to be the brightest yet blended it can be that way!

Stylists- are you team tone or no tone? Do you have a preference? (Yes, I’m well aware it’s situational. I’m only curious if you have a preferred way.)

Clients- do you know why you’re having a toner applied to your hair? Do you understand what you’re trying to achieve with it? Or do you just go with it because that’s what your stylist always does? (Again, I’m not bashing! I’m genuinely curious as to your why)

Spring is right around the corner! Trends are all over the place. Do you think you’ll lighten back up for the spring? Or go/stay on the dark side?!

Idk I’m seeing darker with bright pops for the spring in my crystal ball 🔮 lol.

Fine hair gotcha weighed down? Sometimes it’s more fun just to chop it off! Freshened up her color and lost some inches! It’s so flirty and playful! Also makes the hair appear much fuller when taking up the permitter. Lots of trending shorter cuts! Will you be chopping yours anytime soon?!

I’m really having fun with creating some fun new colors!

This was my first time with this guest and she wanted a change. As a momma, we needed to keep it fairly low maintenance but that doesn’t mean we have to be boring!

This color was soooo shiny✨! It made all her features POP including her awesome personality.

We used joico 4nv with a splash of 4nwb on the base. For the mid to ends, we used a similar formula but I added a hint of 5n for it to be the slighttttttest bit lighter for some underlying dimensional pops that’ll hit when the sun shines.

We did pop just a few foils in for a money piece and toned a little ashy, a little neutral.

I’m really loving how this turned out. What do you think?!💭

How many colors and styles did you try over the years? Going back through some of the footage I’ve had some doozies 😂. Some were character builders. Not all pictured. Like my senior year when I wore a wig for my pictures. Or when I stained my entire body red while trying to color my hair with kool-aid for spirit week. Or when I tried to perm my own bleach blonde hair myself at home with some kit from Sally’s probably. No perm papers, nothing! I went to Jc penny the next day to have my hair all chopped off as it was falling out in clumps 😂😂😂. I lived and I learned so you don’t have to! Hahaha.

What’s your biggest hair fail?!

Why would you invest your time, money, and hair with me?

That’s a good question.

Over the years, I’ve spent countless hours perfecting my skills.

I’ve researched and hand tested many of the best products to use the safest options that deliver the best results.

I don’t double book (unless it’s you and your mom OR you and a friend) I’m not going to ever have you sitting while your color is processing and I’m working on someone else. There’s too much room for things to happen. Schedules often never work out how you plan.

I detail every color based on your needs and what your hair can handle. Love me or hate me, I will not give you what you want if I don’t think your hair can handle it. I will tell you the truth. I will let you know it may take multiple sessions and allow you to make those decisions.

You may notice that I am not the fastest, but I’ll almost ALWAYS be on exact time from what I’ve quoted you.

The price you see online is the price you pay. I don’t charge extra for a million different things and surprise you with it. I don’t charge for multiple bowls etc. I am as transparent as it gets.

You’re also going to be filled with conversation if you want it or time to relax and zone out yourself.

If you know me, I’m an open book. I am a safe space and a peaceful easy feeling. Come as you are and I’ll love you just the same. All dolled up, or in clothes covered in stains, you’re good in my book.

Your time with me is sacred. I appreciate every single one of you!!

Hair is my gift to the world. I wrote my first report in kindergarten about it. I love what I do every day and 18 years in, I still want to be there as much as day 1.

Through the top we foiled in hilights around the face and mainly some faux balayage low lights through the ends! Removed unwanted tones and softened and lines of grow out! Yes please!!

I’ve been MIA for awhile. Sometimes we have so many ideas and things we want to do that we hit another level of overwhelm. I LOVE all of the things I get my hands in to. But then mix that with all of my other lives, it’s tough. Wanting to inspire others and reach more but social media feels so daunting at times. It became showing up for work at a job I don’t like. (The hair I LOVE) the feeling of having to edit, crop etc. but then the biggest question was why am I even posting?!? Because I basically was told I had to by my previous salon? Fear of being relevant? I don’t know. But that got me asking myself a lot of questions that I’d usually next have to go to my therapist to deep dive and understand.

I don’t know what is ahead for me. I’m super happy exactly where I am watering my salon and my girls there. Taking care of my family, and living the life I want to live outside of the salon.

So if you’ve noticed a decline on here, know I’m still bringing the same spicy flavor to the salon. I’m doing all the hair colors. Never all just blondes, I just happen to really like blondes and foiling lol.

A reminder that somatic practices can look almost however you need or want them to look. The key is to connect with your body and align yourself. When we are stuck hanging out with old Linda upstairs, we start having crotchety thoughts.

When we allow ourselves time to connect with ourselves on a deeper level we can do so much healing and it can be so powerful!

So, reminder to see how you can use somatic practices in your own life. It may not solve all of your problems, but I think it may be a nice tool for the back pocket when you’re in a funk.

I believe there’s a lot of truth to the words in this. Because I can feel it on a deeper level.

I’m not done becoming the best version of myself, I’m still breaking old habits and patterns that I basically was born with OR acquired along the way.

But I’m growing and evolving and taking the steps to truly heal little Lindsey and big Lindsey. The past couple of years have been a journey.

One of happiness and tears. Loads of self discovery. Sobriety. Believing in myself a little bit more and then allowing self sabotage to kick in and collapse back into old habits.

But each day those muscles get a little stronger.

It’s morning rituals. It’s putting in the effort. It’s going to therapy. It’s going to the gym. It’s finding a support system that you can count on that believes in me too. (Or whatever healing may look like for you).

But to see the other side and know that suffering is optional (shout out to @samanthaskelly) on that one. I know that I may not be 💯 the person I want to be, but I’m taking all of the right steps to get there.

So when my daughter grows up, she’s ready to take on the world ❤️

Focus on the 1% better every day and see where you grow.

What’s my weakness behind the chair?

I love lifting services. You don’t HAVE TO be a blonde. But foil work becomes an art to me. I find peace in the foils as silly as that sounds. (It goes down to even the time I take to make sure they’re all folded and torn just the way I like them.)

Laughter is the best medicine. If you can come in and we get to laughing, I’m going to be having the best day ever. 🙌🏻 I so welcome the good energy and fun times in the salon.

Deep Conversations. If you know me, you already know. Small talk is kinda hard for me believe it or not. I once had to google what to talk to a mom about in the hallway at Indy’s school because I just go blank. Can anyone else relate?! But deep conversation, you’ve got me hooked for hours.

Dancing. Duh! If I’m mixing the color I may be breaking it down back there. Or in between clients. I’m no pro, but I feel better when I’m doing it and after. (Moving that body and somatically moving things) has always been a go to for me and stress relief.

So, if you already come to me and we don’t already do these, know they are the way to my heart.

It’s been awhile since I’ve really got in there with the foils.

I prepped first with @lorealpro metal detox to remove any unwanted tones, from hard water and minerals and I used @epresbeauty to protect and keep the hair healthy and shiny while lifting!

Both keeping that hair 💯!

Went in and did a heavy partial foil with tip outs to pop that blonde!

We used blondor. As always. With my favorite trionics developer to keep it healthy and shinyyyyy!

Cut off a couple inches, added some texture and voila! A star ⭐️ was born! (Not like she wasn’t before but WOW! I’m loving it!)

2. I’d mix with conditioner half and half. If you’ve got finer hair, I’d mix it with a lighter weight conditioner. If your hair needs a serious drink or hydration, mix it with something thicker!

3. Rub together all in the hands first to also disperse it evenly.

4. Apply to top, bottom, middle, underneath, you name it! Get it nice and massaged- TREAT YO SELF!

5. Take a comb or wet brush in the shower with you and work it through for a minute or so. Just to be sure!!!

6. Shave, sit at the bottom of the shower and cry, meditate. Whatever you want for ATLEAST 5 minutes.

******* DISCLAIMER- also I would not use immediately after having it colored. Wait a couple of weeks or so! Then only use every couple of weeks! No need for every day. We want to keep it just enough to enhance your hair!

This beautiful soul is someone that I’m lucky enough to call my best friend 🥰.

Over the last year or so I am sure you’ve heard me talking or posting about her epic adventure to Africa to work with women there to participate in their first Ironman. She worked with @shecantri to fundraise for this event and to be a part of it.

AND ITS ALMOST TIME!!!!!!! We’re in the final countdown.

I did make sure @ilcsalon was a sponsor because duh, she’s my best friend! So now she gets to have a little piece of me on her when she’s there in Africa!

Anyhoo, I just really wanted to send her love and shout her out for how amazing she is (and how great her hair was that day)!!

We’ve tried many different things. Going lighter. Adding depth. I think this may be one of my favorites!

We started by protecting with @epresbeauty and controlling the metals with @lorealpro metal detox.

I did a full foil really being strategic on which hairs we were going to make blonde and pop and where I was going to add the depth back in!

I honestly have loved @pravana copper lowlight. It’s one that they’ve already added the copper to the natural. Then I added a hint of extra warmth. I didn’t want any of it to take too dark or go too muddy. But honestly, it turned out just how I imagined!

It’s always fun when you want to play!

I’ve been quiet lately.

Today I went to pull a card and the gratitude rampage card popped right out of the pile. So I suppose I needed to get out some gratefulness. lol.

It’s the season of me being obsessed with açaí bowls. Today there was 30% off and it was delicious!!

Grateful for NA beverage options aka mocktails that are healthy and fun making it really enjoyable to be sober!

My best friend @mirandahummelartistry turned me onto these products. I decided to give up tox for awhile but I wanted to up my skincare game. This has been a game changer! So many people have commented at how much my skin has changed!

Little cutie quick curl!

Used the 1 1/4” bio ionic long barrel curling iron and amikas texture spray to complete this look 👀.

This took about 5 minutes IRL.

Don’t get too caught up in making each curl perfect. Just throw them all in and shake it up. If there’s something you don’t like, you can always tweak it after.

TIP- if you’re learning. Don’t try this right before you go out. Do it when you’re about to wash your hair. Also, keep the heat low. For one, you’re learning. For two, high heat just isn’t necessary. Okay, and use heat protection!!!

She already has beautiful hair with red undertones but we wanted to enhance it! With using Demi color on her hair, it will gradually fade back to how it once was! (There may be a small line) but not a harsh grow out. So she can make this as high or low maintenance as she likes!

I’ve been cutting her hair for almost 7ish years? More less? Covid was a time warp. Anyway, she said yes to color and we are having so much fun!!!!

8. To spend 2.5-3.5 hours with me. So we’ve got plenty of time for number 7.

I’m a sucker for deep conversation and foiling. But a gray coverage appointment is always welcome to come sit and my chair and we can relax. Either way, my biggest thing is that we both feel good while you’re here.

My schedule is always a little crazy (thanks to my amazing clients/friends/community) but I’m also always happy to have someone new in my chair! If it aligns, I’m always right here.

Fresh colors & cut with loose waves/curls.

Adding waves or curls always just kicks it up a notch. I’m not against straight hair in the slightest. But I do love some movement in the hair.

Most all of these pictures I either used a 1” ghd or a 1 1/4” bioionic curling iron to create. Curling away from the face. That part IS IMPORTANT to remember.

Once you get to the back, you can alternate but only if you feel comfortable. Otherwise, just keep going away from the face.

Don’t end up with George Washington curls OKAYYYY!
